Questions parents ask.

What ages do you teach?+

Pili Kai teaches keiki and adults at a range of ages and comfort levels. Message us with your swimmer’s age and we’ll let you know what fits.

Where are lessons held?+

As a mobile swim school, lessons are held at appropriate pools and selected water locations around Oʻahu, chosen based on your area and your swimmer’s needs.

Do you teach at home pools?+

Home pools can be considered when the pool is suitable and safe for instruction. Send us details about your pool and we’ll confirm.

Do you offer ocean lessons?+

Ocean sessions depend on conditions, location, and your swimmer’s current skill level. Message us to discuss whether it’s a good fit.

How long are lessons?+

Lessons are 30 minutes, which keeps sessions focused and productive for young swimmers.

How often should my child take lessons?+

Consistency supports progress. After the assessment we recommend a cadence that fits your child’s goals and your family’s schedule.

What happens if it rains?+

Lessons are scheduled around safe conditions. If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll be in touch to find another time that works.

What should my child bring?+

Swimwear, a towel, and goggles if your child uses them. We’ll share anything else specific to your lesson location before the first session.

How does the assessment work?+

The assessment is a 30-minute first session to observe water comfort, breath control, and current skills so lessons can be planned around your child.

What happens after the assessment?+

We share what we observed, recommend a personalized plan, and set up a lesson cadence that fits your family.

Ready to help your child build confidence in the water?

Start with a swim assessment. We’ll get to know your child, understand their current skills and goals, and recommend a path forward that fits your family.
